Microsoft has been teasing the Xbox 25th anniversary console since June. However, it never mentioned anything about the price.
A new report claims the limited-edition Xbox Series X25 might debut at a price well above the current price of the standard Series X.
So what exactly did this report reveal?
According to a Dealabs report citing internal research, the Xbox Series X25 could debut at €899.99 in Europe or about $899.99 in the US.
While we know that the console will go official in November 2026, the report gives it a specific launch date: November 27, 2026. The reason behind it? Microsoft might want to capitalize on Black Friday sales events around the time.
That’s roughly a month after the matching special edition controller arrives. Microsoft has already confirmed that the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition controller will ship in October.
Design-wise, the X25 keeps the translucent “OG Green” shell revealed back at the Xbox Games Showcase, based on the original 2001 console, but with its internal components visible through the casing.
How does that price actually stack up?
At an estimated $899.99, the X25 would land at exactly the same price as Sony’s PS5 Pro, despite the Xbox skipping the disc drive that Sony’s console also leaves out.
Against Microsoft’s own lineup, though, the gap looks smaller. The standard 1TB Series X with a disc drive now costs $799.99, following Microsoft’s price hike this past August, leaving just $100 between the two consoles.
For some context, the PS5 Digital Edition’s 30th Anniversary bundle launched at just $50 above the standard Digital Edition’s price (at the time). However, the console market has changed since.
Repeated blows by RAMageddon have significantly inflated console prices in the last year, and the Xbox 25th anniversary console might not be any different. Pre-order timing for the X25 hasn’t been announced yet, so anyone hoping to grab one will need to keep an eye on Xbox’s channels.
