Try These Steps If Your Parachute Isn’t Working In Wardogs

September 11, 2026

If you’re struggling to deploy your parachute in Wardogs, there could be a few reasons. Firstly, you’ll need to actually own one, and secondly, there has been a bug that unbinds the parachute control without having a reliable way to rebind it. We’ve got all you need to know on how to fix both of those issues, so fear not, you’ll soon be sailing to a safe landing.

Firstly, you’ll need to buy a parachute. To do this, head to an equipment vendor. Head to the gear tab and buy a parachute. The basic one is cheaper but cannot be manually controlled, so it’s worth grinding to level 35 and saving up the $500 to get the Sport Parachute. You can use the basic one to begin with in a pinch, but when you fall, you’ll be an easy target for enemies since you can’t move.

The Sport Parachute is worth the grind.

However, if you’ve got a parachute equipped and you’re still facing issues, the likelihood is you’re experiencing the bug that unbinds your parachute deployment control. This, by default, is space. If you’ve read our guide on how to fly in Wardogs, you’ll know we recommend binding space to ascend your helicopter. This will unbind space from the parachute deployment control if you’re unlucky. To fix this, follow these steps:

  • Close the game completely and ensure it’s not running in the background.
  • Press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
  • Copy as paste this into the Run: box: %LOCALAPPDATA%WardogsSavedConfigWindowsClient
  • This will open a folder. Open the config file within it named “GameUserSettings.ini”
  • Towards the bottom you’ll see something that looks like: ((TagName=”Input.NamedActions.Player.DeployParachute”), (PrimaryKey=(bIsCustom=True)))
  • Change this ((TagName=”Input.NamedActions.Player.DeployParachute”), (PrimaryKey=(bIsCustom=True)))

    to this:
    ((TagName=”Input.NamedActions.Player.DeployParachute”), (PrimaryKey=(Key=SpaceBar,bIsCustom=True))

  • Save the file, exit the Notepad, and restart Wardogs.

This should fix your issues, and rebind spacebar to the parachute deployment. Wardogs developers have said that there will be a fix for this specific issue, it was intended to be fixed for the early access launch on September 10, but so far, players are still finding issues with deploying their parachutes. These steps will get you back on track.
