Samsung packs Galaxy phones with so many features that it is easy to miss some of the genuinely useful ones.
Some are buried inside Settings, while others sit quietly inside Samsung apps until you come across them.
Over time, I found a handful of features that now fit naturally into my daily routine and save me time, reduce small annoyances, and make my Galaxy S25 Ultra easier to use.
Using a separate app sound
I split the audio without interruptions
Separate app sound is one of those Samsung features that sounds niche until you find the right use for it.
I use it when I want audio from one app to play through a Bluetooth device while everything else stays on my phone.
For example, I can route Spotify to a Bluetooth speaker without sending every notification, video, or random sound through the same speaker.
It is especially useful when I am playing music for other people because I do not want an Instagram Reel or incoming notification to suddenly take over the audio.
I can set it up under Settings > Sounds and vibration > Separate app sound, choose an app like Instagram, and select the audio device (This phone).
It is a small bit of control, but after I configured it properly, I stopped switching Bluetooth outputs or worrying about other apps interrupting whatever I was playing.
My Android Auto routine
My phone changes when driving
Modes and Routines is easily one of the Samsung features I use most, and my Android Auto routine is the perfect example of why.
I went into Settings > Modes and Routines and created a routine for my Android Auto setup.
As soon as my Galaxy connects to Android Auto, the system automatically changes several settings I would never bother adjusting manually before every drive.
The system turns off Always On Display, disables fast charging, switches to the Light performance profile, and uses LTE instead of constantly searching for 5G.
I can add or remove actions when my setup changes, so the routine has evolved with the way I use Android Auto.
The best part is that I don’t have to remember any of this. I plug in my Galaxy S25 Ultra, Android Auto launches, and the routine takes care of the rest.
When I disconnect, Samsung automatically restores my normal settings.
I stack widgets to save space
I like having useful information on my home screen, but I don’t want it covered with widgets.
Samsung’s stacked widgets give me a good middle ground.
Instead of dedicating separate blocks of space to Weather, Calendar, Reminders, and YouTube Music, I can place compatible widgets in the same spot and swipe through them when I need something.
I can check upcoming reminders, glance at my calendar, or jump into notes from the same area.
Samsung also lets me reorder the widgets later, so I can keep the ones I use most near the front.

Samsung Pass speeds up my typing
I don’t use Samsung Keyboard only for typing. Samsung Pass makes it much more useful when I need to enter information.
Because it is integrated into Samsung’s keyboard experience, I can quickly access saved information when I am filling out forms or signing in to apps and websites.
That saves me from bouncing between a password manager and whatever app I’m using.
I especially appreciate it on a phone because repetitive form-filling becomes annoying on a smaller screen.
Samsung Pass in Samsung Keyboard feels like one of those ecosystem features that is easy to overlook, but its seamless integration makes everyday typing and autofill noticeably more convenient.
Using Finder to its full potential
My universal Galaxy search
I used to think Samsung Finder was only useful for finding apps, but now I use it as a universal search tool for my Galaxy phone.
Instead of opening an app and searching inside it, I can start typing what I am looking for in Finder.
It can surface results from supported apps such as Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify, which saves me a number of taps.
If I want to find a specific show, YouTube video, or playlist, I can start in Finder and jump straight to the relevant result.
Still, I use it for the basics, like finding apps, settings, contacts, and files.
Going further, I would love to see support for more third-party apps like IMDB, Amazon Prime Video, and more.
Useful Galaxy tricks most people miss
The more I use One UI, the more I appreciate how much value Samsung hides in the smaller details.
These are not the features that dominate launch events or spec sheets, but they are the ones that make my phone feel more personal and efficient over time.
I have gradually built my Galaxy setup around shortcuts, automation, search, and a few quality-of-life improvements that reduce the number of taps I make every day.
That is what makes Samsung software interesting to me. There is always another useful setting or tool waiting to be discovered.
