Air fryers are great for anyone, but the Ninja Crispi is made for meal preppers. With its portable design, it stores nicely and can be used on the go. Plus, it actually works. The controls are simple, and the glass baskets come with storage lids for easy food storage.
Since we originally tested this device, it’s become a favorite of the Mashable shopping team. Not to mention, the Crispi has gotten quite a bit of attention online as folks seek a plastic-free air fryer, and the Crispi is really the best option available.
There are certain devices I look at and think, there’s no way that’s going to work, always hoping to be proven wrong. The Ninja Crispi is one of those devices, with its glass basket and air-frying lid, I was skeptical of its efficacy. I’m pleased to say I was wrong. It delivered food that was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
When it comes to testing air fryer crispiness, my go-to trials are always tofu and frozen French fries. The Ninja Crispi handled both with flying colors. In less than 20 minutes, it air-fried cubes of tofu tossed in cornstarch to crunchy perfection. Frozen French fries also turned out great. I tossed a handful into the container, not bothering to lay them without any overlap, and still, the Ninja Crispi made every fry perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining soft on the inside.
Air fryers are an appliance of convenience, able to get food hot and crispy quickly, and the Ninja Crispi maximizes that with its design that allows you to meal prep and store food directly into glass baskets, where you will then reheat it. The storage containers are all dishwasher safe, a rare trait in air fryer baskets.
Compared to other air fryers, the settings on this device may be a little limited, as you can’t adjust the temperature. However, I have tested the Crispi on a variety of foods, and I didn’t miss being able to adjust the temperature.
