Stressing the inherent popularity of and demand from people wanting to reach those they do business with on the WhatsApp communications platform, LeapXpert has announced a collaboration designed to extend the Webex by Cisco platform beyond internal collaboration and into governed client messaging on their channel of choice.
Governed communications intelligence provider LeapXpert noted that for most enterprises, especially those in financial services, key conversations happen outside the systems that businesses traditionally manage. With Webex used by 95% of the Fortune 500 and roughly 300,000 organisations worldwide, LeapXpert believes the partnership will bring governed consumer messaging within reach of tens of millions of business users.
The company noted that enterprise communications have moved to messaging and that informal conversations that close deals, resolve problems and build relationships now happen on channels like WhatsApp, iMessage, Signal and WeChat. It also said that artificial intelligence (AI) combined with enterprise governance can turn that data for these conversations – which have traditionally sat outside enterprise governance – into valuable assets.
“The conversations that matter most to a business already happen outside the systems it controls,” said LeapXpert co-founder and chief business officer Avi Pardo. “Clients moved to messaging channels because that’s where they want to be, not because any enterprise approved it, and the firms that can’t govern those conversations are carrying risk they can’t see.”
The core LeapXpert Communications Platform is designed to bring enterprise-grade governance to the consumer messaging channels that their employees and clients already use. Every conversation is captured, governed and understood in real time, turning client interactions into intelligence. The company claims to work with “hundreds of the world’s most demanding enterprises” across financial services, government and the Forbes Global 200.
In June 2026, LeapXpert announced a $180m growth investment led by Riverwood Capital. Commenting on why it made the investment, Riverwood Capital co-founder and managing partner Jeff Parks said: “The first generation of enterprise communication software archived conversations. The next governed them. The latest uses AI to unlock value from every interaction. LeapXpert leads that progression today.”
LeapXpert founder and CEO Dima Gutzeit said: “Messaging is where business happens now. The next wave of enterprise value will come from making those conversations trusted, connected and actionable. But AI can only work with what enterprises can see and govern. Our mission is to give every organisation the infrastructure to govern their conversations and the intelligence to act on them.”
The integration is designed to bring users inside Cisco’s platform, closing any communications gap for Webex customers, initially with WhatsApp and expanding from there. Indeed, this will be the first of several channels LeapXpert plans to bring into Webex.
In practice, users sign in with their existing Webex credentials on desktop or mobile, data loss prevention technology checks all messages in both directions and LeapXpert then captures the full conversation for archiving.
The integration also lets Webex users message clients on WhatsApp without ever leaving the platform. The capability is now live now on the Webex App Hub. A Leap Work account and a Webex license are required.
For its part, Webex boasts decades worth of experience partnering with government organisations, with its Webex Contact Center Enterprise for Government platform offering expanded meetings, messaging, calling and contact centre capabilities. This is described by Cisco as a “comprehensive, customisable, highly secure citizen engagement offering that meets the complex needs of even the government’s largest contact centres”.
Additionally, Webex Calling will be included as part of Webex for Government, which provides the power of the Webex Platform in a single offer for Calling, Meetings and Messaging, with FedRAMP moderate authorisation available in Autumn 2023.
In the particular use case of government services, Cisco believes that Webex can bring innovation through enterprise-grade cloud services that provide access to modern features and capabilities, while balancing critical enterprise-grade software requirements such as reliability, scalability and security.
