TL;DR
- Google is bringing Connected Camera support to 11 new communication and work apps, including Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Slack.
- Connected Camera lets your Pixel device connect to another linked Pixel or even a GoPro for multi-camera video feeds, while retaining native app filters and effects.
- With this update rolling out on the Play Store, the number of officially supported apps has grown from five to 16.
Google is expanding one of the Pixel line’s most underrated video features to a much wider audience. With the latest update to the Pixel Camera Services app, Google is rolling out support for its Connected Camera feature across 11 new communication and productivity apps, significantly expanding its utility for users who want high-quality, multi-camera video feeds on their Pixel phone.
Connected Camera allows Pixel devices to capture or stream across supported applications while tapping into external cameras, namely a linked Pixel phone or even a GoPro, along with the host app’s native effects and filters. Think of it like a mini TV studio where you can easily bounce from Camera 1 to Camera 2 without interrupting your stream.
