He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction preorders: How to get free gift

TL;DR: Physical preorders for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction are officially live across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

If you grew up glued to the television on Saturday mornings, waiting to hear He-Man declare that he has the power, this is the exact news your inner child needed to hear. To celebrate He-Man’s official birthday, Mattel and retro gaming development specialists Bitmap Bureau teamed up with Clear River Games and Limited Run Games to bring Eternia back to physical media.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction is an authentic 16-bit 2D side-scrolling arcade brawler launching Feb. 4, 2027, across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Physical preorders are officially open now, giving retro gaming enthusiasts and MotU fans two distinct ways to own a piece of gaming history.

The plot

When the nefarious Skeletor uncovers the ancient Dragon Pearl of Destruction, he pairs up with Evil-Lyn to execute a dark ritual that threatens to plunge all of Eternia into eternal darkness. It’s up to He-Man, Man-At-Arms, and Teela to smash their way through Skeletor’s army of minions.

The game blends classic 2-player local co-op arcade beat ’em up combat with high-fantasy theatrics, featuring massive, hand-crafted pixel-art sprites that look like the original 1980s animated series brought to life.

Across 13 action-packed stages, including the Royal Palace, the Vine Jungle, and the dark corridors of Snake Mountain, players will battle iconic villains like Beast Man, Trap Jaw, Evil-Lyn, and Skeletor, along with deep-lore foes like the dark sorceress Shokoti and the Shadow Beasts. The game is region-free and features English voice acting along with multi-language in-game text (English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish).
