Why Stand-Up Comedians Are Uniting Against SiriusXM & Sebastian Maniscalco

On October 5th, Comedian Liz Miele spearheaded a social media campaign demanding Sebastian Manisclaco and Sirius XM reverse their decision to replace Raw Radio with Sebastian Maniscalco’s Comedy Radio, removing over 500 comedians from the channel. Comedians like Josh Johnson, Rosebud Baker, Marc Maron and Patton Oswalt amongst many others shared videos asking Sebastian and SiriusXM to reconsider.

In this video, Liz Miele, Raanan Hershberg, Myq Kaplan and Brandie Posey share how passive revenue from satellite radio play has been a crucial source of income for hundreds of working-class comics, allowing them to pay rent, offset special production costs, and maintain a sustainable career. The comics discuss their organized response and the broader economic challenges facing comedians today.

These interviews occurred before Maniscalco made his official comment on social media on October 7th.
