Grand Theft Auto V took one year and seven months to reach PC, but a new report suggests Grand Theft Auto 6 could arrive on the platform within four months of its console release. The reported window is the first quarter of 2027, not a confirmed PC launch date.
The reported PC window runs through March
GamesBeat reported that Rockstar Games is planning a PC release in Q1 2027, which would put the game on PC by the end of March. Video Games Chronicle relayed the claim, saying GamesBeat based it on four industry sources familiar with Rockstar’s plans. Those sources reportedly asked to remain anonymous to avoid harming their relationships with the studio.
The same report puts the console release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. If both dates hold, PC players would wait no more than four months after the console launch. That would be a strikingly short gap for a Rockstar release, although the PC version has not been formally announced by Rockstar or Take-Two.
That distinction matters amid a steady stream of GTA 6 rumors. A PEGI-related GTA 6 report is another example of how unconfirmed details can circulate before Rockstar provides an official update; none of that makes this release window a confirmed schedule.
A sharp change from Rockstar’s usual wait
The reported timing would also beat the roughly seven-month gap between Grand Theft Auto IV’s console and PC releases. For Grand Theft Auto V, the wait stretched to a year and seven months, according to Video Games Chronicle. A four-month maximum would be a substantial change from those two precedents, though it remains a claim about plans rather than a guarantee.

Former Rockstar producer John Ricchio has previously described the studio’s console-first approach as a matter of managing development resources, rather than hostility toward PC. The approach lets developers establish the game around known console hardware constraints before adapting it for PC. That context explains the usual order of releases, but it does not verify the new report’s timetable.
Official confirmation is still the next milestone
PC Gamer reported that Rockstar had not commented on the claim, and neither Rockstar nor Take-Two has formally confirmed a PC version in the supplied reporting. An earlier alleged-footage report offers another reminder that GTA 6 leaks need to be treated cautiously, even when a claim includes a specific date range.
For now, there is no confirmed PC release date to plan around. The decisive update would need to come from Rockstar or Take-Two; until then, Q1 2027 remains an anonymously sourced report, with March 31 as the end of its stated window.
