We regret to inform you that the president has been posting AI videos again.
In the late night clip above, Jimmy Kimmel recaps Trump’s latest slop post of himself chasing and wrestling a tiger, before appearing to befriend it.
“To me the most unrealistic part of that video is him running,” says Kimmel. “I guess maybe he’s bored? How can you be president and be bored? If you want to know how brave he really is around wild animals, this is from a photo shoot he did with an eagle.”
Cue some (real) footage from 10 years ago of Trump flinching away from a bald eagle during a photoshoot. “He would definitely suplex a tiger,” says Kimmel.
The AI video is bizarre when viewed by itself, but it gets worse when you add in context. Prior to sharing the AI footage, Trump posted a clip of a British man, William Chapman, inside a tiger enclosure — video that was taken moments before he was killed on Saturday. Chapman’s family has called the circulation of the footage “deeply offensive”, and said it’s causing them “severe distress”.
