With Grand Theft Auto VI set to launch on November 19, fans are still waiting for Rockstar to reveal the actors behind Jason Duval, Lucia Caminos, and the many other characters who inhabit Leonida. The developer has shared character profiles, trailers, and extended footage, giving fans plenty of dialogue to analyze, but it’s kept most of its voice cast under wraps. One major name has now publicly confirmed his involvement, but other actors are linked to the game through fan theories, online credits, and comparisons between their voices and the characters shown in trailers.
There’s been plenty of speculation, including theories about a pair of relatively unfamiliar names playing the protagonists. A key theory about Troy Baker playing Jason has already been debunked, and the prolific voice actor Roger Craig has also ruled himself out. As new information emerges daily, here’s a breakdown of all of the confirmed GTA 6 voice actors and the biggest rumors.
Stephen Root as Brian Heder
Stephen Root confirmed his involvement with GTA 6 in September 2026 while speaking to the Associated Press at the BAFTA TV Tea Party in Beverly Hills.
“Yeah, you’re gonna see me in there,” Root said when asked about the game. He also explained that people had begun recognizing his voice in Rockstar’s promotional material, making it difficult to keep his involvement secret.
Root is best known for playing Milton Waddams in Office Space, Bill Dauterive in King of the Hill, and Monroe Fuches in Barry. His career also includes roles in Get Out, No Country for Old Men, and The Man in the High Castle. He’s also the Grand Theft Auto franchise’s second-ever Emmy-winning actor.
Root is believed to be playing Brian Heder–a veteran drug smuggler working out of the Leonida Keys. Rockstar’s character profile for Brian presents him as an experienced criminal who moves drugs through his boatyard with his third wife, Lori, while allowing others to do the majority of the dangerous work. We also know that he’s Jason’s landlord and employer at the boatyard.

Jim Santangeli as ???
Jim Santangeli has also publicly said that he worked on GTA 6. The actor, who played Simon Pearson in Red Dead Redemption 2, discussed his involvement during a TikTok livestream in June 2026.
Santangeli described his contribution as a “little small bit,” suggesting that his role is relatively minor. He didn’t identify the character he plays, or reveal any details about the scene he recorded.
His involvement is pretty notable though, because Rockstar’s games frequently feature performers who have worked with the developer before. Robert Bogue played Red Harlow in Red Dead Redemption and then went on to play Troy in GTA 4: The Ballad of Gay Tony and Steve Haines in GTA 5, for example. However, Santangeli’s appearance in RDR2 doesn’t guarantee that he’s reprising a character or playing a major role in GTA 6.
For now, his character remains unknown. We’ll have to wait and see.

Manni L. Perez as Lucia Caminos
Manni L. Perez is one of the most frequently discussed candidates to voice Lucia Caminos, one of GTA 6’s two protagonists.
Perez is known for appearances in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Jessica Jones, and Click Next to Continue. Fans began connecting her to Lucia because of perceived similarities between her appearance and voice and what they could see and hear of Lucia in Rockstar’s promotional material.
Perez has also previously expressed an interest in voice acting and motion capture. While that helps to fuel speculation, it doesn’t establish that she definitely worked on GTA 6.
Perez has already been credited with voicing characters in GTA Online’s Diamond Casino & Resort update, making her a plausible candidate because of Rockstar’s penchant to dip into its own talent pool when hiring.
Until Perez or Rockstar identifies her role, she remains a rumored choice rather than a confirmed cast member … but come on, look at her. It’ll be more of a shock if she doesn’t end up being revealed as Lucia.

Dylan Rourke as Jason Duval
Dylan Rourke is the name most commonly linked to Jason Duval, Lucia’s partner and the game’s other protagonist.
The theory gained traction through fan comparisons between Rourke’s voice and Jason’s dialogue, as well as speculation around the actor’s professional history and online presence.
Rourke is less widely known than many of the performers whose names have been linked to GTA 6, which has made it a pretty appealing mystery for fans trying to identify the cast before it’s officially revealed. He’s previously appeared in one episode each of Modern Family and Grey’s Anatomy, and has film credits on Send It! and Bury the Bridge from 2021 and 2023 respectively.
However, there’s no public confirmation or even a hint from Rourke that he plays Jason.

Bobby Moynihan as Cal Hampton
Comedian and actor Bobby Moynihan has been linked to Cal Hampton, one of the GTA 6 supporting characters shown in Rockstar’s promotional material.
Moynihan is known for his work on Saturday Night Live, as well as voicing characters in DuckTales, Monsters University, and The Secret Life of Pets. His recognizable voice has led fans to compare him with Cal. Other SNL alumni that have gone on to be involved with the GTA franchise include Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, and Jason Sudekis.
Cal is described as a friend of Jason’s who prefers staying home to monitor Coast Guard communications and browse the internet to taking risks out in the world.
The character’s mannerisms and voice have prompted speculation about Moynihan’s involvement, but he’s not officially credited anywhere as Cal. Some eagle-eyed fans have spotted that Moynihan follows Rourke on Instagram, which could be a coincidence, but certainly fuels the rumors.
Actors who have ruled themselves out
Troy Baker, best known for playing Joel in The Last of Us, Higgs in Death Stranding, and other major video game characters, was one of the earliest performers fans associated with Jason.
After the first GTA 6 trailer was released in December 2023, some viewers believed Jason’s brief line of dialogue sounded like Baker, leading to widespread speculation that the actor was playing the male protagonist.
Baker addressed the rumors in an interview with The Movie Dweeb in April 2024, confirming that he wasn’t playing Jason. He said that the actor who did land the role deserved recognition for his work. His comments put one of the earliest GTA 6 casting theories to rest for good.
Roger Craig Smith, whose credits include Ezio in Assassin’s Creed, Batman, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Chris Redfield in Resident Evil, also denied playing Jason.
After the second GTA 6 trailer was shown in May 2025, Smith responded to the speculation on social media with a straightforward, “Nope. Not me.”
Will Rockstar reveal the full GTA 6 cast before launch?
Rockstar’s silence on its list of GTA 6 voice actors is pretty consistent with the studio’s broader approach to marketing. The developer has shared extensive footage and character information but kept many production details under wraps.
However, for GTA 5, the voice actors were revealed via IGN around 10 months before the game released. With less than a month to go before GTA 6 is released, that’s clearly not happening this time around. We’d guess that the cast won’t be revealed until the game is out, but we’ll happily be proven wrong if Rockstar wants to announce some names before then.
