T-Mobile is giving away the Apple iPhone 17 for free — how to qualify

October 24, 2026

TL;DR: The Apple iPhone 17e is free if you simply switch to T-Mobile on most plans. The Apple iPhone 17 is under $100 when you bring your number on an Experience More or Experience Beyond plan.

We’re not blind to what’s going on right now. We’re well aware that everyone is going wild for the iPhone Duo. Apple’s first-ever foldable is obviously dominating the conversation, but does that mean we can totally ignore all the other mobile deals? In this economy?

We refuse to stop. We’ve been busy scanning for the best early Black Friday deals on mobiles, and T-Mobile’s offering is hard to ignore.

The Apple iPhone 17e is totally free right now with T-Mobile. To qualify for this offer, you simply need to switch to T-Mobile on most plans. If you want to upgrade to the iPhone 17, you can get it for under $100 when you bring your number on an Experience More or Experience Beyond plan. Neither deal relies on a trade-in, which is a nice bonus.

The full savings are distributed as monthly credits over a 36-month payment plan. If you leave T-Mobile before the end of the three-year commitment, you will need to pay the remaining balance. You do also need to pay local sales tax on the phone’s full retail value upfront, plus a standard $35 device connection fee per line at checkout.

We reviewed the iPhone 17e earlier this year. Stan Schroeder said, “The iPhone 17e is a decent upgrade over its predecessor, and a good choice if you want the cheapest new iPhone you can get.” If you don’t need all the power of the iPhone 18 Pro, it’s a solid choice for most people.
