Here’s a good look at the Samsung W27 ahead of its launch

TL;DR

  • Samsung is expected to launch the W27 foldable this week, with hardware largely similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
  • We’re now getting a good look at the smartphone from nearly every angle, showing gold accents along the sides and edges.
  • The W27 is expected to be available exclusively in China, like previous W series foldables.

Samsung typically releases two foldables a year for the global market. That changed this year with the introduction of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. However, the manufacturer has another foldable coming this year, as we recently learned from a Samsung teaser. We’re now seeing some high-quality visuals of the phone ahead of its launch this week, courtesy of a reliable source.

Prominent leaker Evan Blass, a.k.a. Evleaks, shared an image on X showing the China-exclusive Samsung W27 in the Aura Blue colorway from practically all angles.

The first thing that comes to mind when you see these visuals is gold, and a lot of it. Last week’s teaser hinted at this, but this leak shows just how much the exterior differs from the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. However, there likely won’t be much different on the inside.

Last year’s Samsung W26 introduced a couple of features the Galaxy Z Fold 7 lacked, such as more RAM and some additional Galaxy AI features. It’s unclear if the W27 will follow the same route, though leaker Ice Universe recently suggested that the company may stick with the same hardware as its global sibling.

This means customers could find an 8-inch, 2504 x 2256 inner screen and a 6.5-inch, 2520 × 1080 cover display. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy should be the chipset of choice, alongside a 200MP+50MP+10MP rear camera setup and a 10MP selfie camera.

The W27 could also retain the Z Fold 8 Ultra’s 5,000mAh battery, supported by 45W wired charging. With last week’s teaser revealing the W27’s October 29 launch date, we won’t have to wait long to find out what’s different about this foldable beyond the obvious.
