FromSoftware has pushed its Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods out of its 2026 launch window and into 2027, the studio announced on X on October 29.
Development is already far along. In its announcement, the studio said on X that “While development of ‘The Duskbloods’ is at the final adjustment stage, we have made the decision to move the launch window to 2027.” The same post apologized “to players who have been kindly awaiting the release of this title,” and thanked them for their patience and support.
What is being adjusted
A follow-up post from the game’s account explained the reasoning: the August network test showed strong interest in the game’s core concepts of combat, strategic depth and player expression, and the delay buys time to sharpen the rules and balance around them. The studio did not say which specific systems are being changed. Nintendo’s regional accounts in Germany, France and Italy reposted the news, adding that the shift is meant “to provide the best possible gaming experience.”
A long-awaited reveal waits longer
The Duskbloods was first revealed at the Switch 2 unveiling Direct in April 2025, and its 2026 window was reaffirmed as recently as February without ever receiving a firm date. It is a match-based PvPvE game where eight Bloodsworn compete across four phases of a Dusk Battle, ending in a free-for-all among the top three players. The slip leaves Nintendo’s 2026 first-party calendar without one of its biggest console exclusives.
No specific release date inside 2027 has been announced.
