The Motorola Razr Ultra sports an ultra-sleek design with a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 16GB of RAM, and two glorious displays. The Ultra was a bit pricey at launch, but this early Black Friday deal from Best Buy is slashing $600 off the phone for a limited time.
It’s been over a year since the Motorola Razr Ultra (2025) first dropped, but the clamshell device still impresses today with two gorgeous pOLED displays, a titanium-reinforced hinge, and some versatile camera tech straight out of the box.
Thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with 16GB of RAM, performance from the Motorola Razr Ultra continues to hold its own against the best flip phones on the market, while the 4,700mAh battery is actually larger than the newer Galaxy Z Flip 8 from Samsung.
So what’s the catch?
Of course, no phone is perfect, and going last-gen with your devices means that you should be prepared to make some sacrifices. The biggest issue here is the software promise. Even at launch, the Motorola Razr Ultra (2025) fell behind the competition by guaranteeing just three OS updates with four years of security updates.
That means that the 2025 device will only get updates up to Android 18. Compare that to the seven-year software promise offered by other foldable phones, and you’ll see why it’s an issue.
Aside from the limited software support, the only major problem that we had with the Motorola Razr Ultra (2025) at launch was its $1,300 price tag. Those days are over, and with this early Black Friday deal from Best Buy in tow, the Razr Ultra has swiftly become the best flip phone that you can buy for under $700 today.
