Rockstar Games has just announced that preloads for Grand Theft Auto 6, aka GTA 6, will kick off at midnight on November 10 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. If you’re buying the game from a retailer, code-in-box versions will be available starting November 12, ahead of the game’s release on November 19.
“Digital pre-loading on PlayStation 5 will begin on Tuesday, November 10 at midnight local time in your respective time zone. On XBOX Series X|S, pre-loading begins globally on Tuesday, November 10 at 12 a.m. GMT,” the studio said in a press statement.
The more interesting bit of information is that the preload file will take up to 212GB of storage on your console. If you have a generous library of installed games, you might want to delete some of them or move them to external storage to make room for GTA 6. On launch day, Rockstar Games will also release an official cover art poster and map, available as a free download or as a double-sided physical print for $0.99 from the official Rockstar Store.
GTA 6 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated games in years, and analysts estimate that it will break multiple revenue and sales records. The game is currently limited to consoles, but reports suggest a PC version could arrive next year. As far as content goes, the studio isn’t pulling any punches. The world is going to be massive and true to the series’ roots, with plenty of mature content, including drug use, gory violence, and more.
