Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 goes live on November 6, 2026, bringing the free-to-play battle royale in line with Modern Warfare 4 with two new maps, mechanical changes, and a reset of every player’s level.
Activision announced the season in its official Season 1 “Everything You Need to Know” post on the Call of Duty blog on November 2. The headline change for the battle royale crowd is Hajin, the new Battle Royale map, joined by Zodiac, the new home of the faster Resurgence mode, as PCGamesN reported in its November 3 deep dive.
Two new battlegrounds
Hajin, as PCGamesN describes it, sits on the border between North and South Korea, mixing high-rise commercial buildings, residential districts and dense military bases, with coastal rotations available by land or sea. The map should feel immediately familiar to anyone who spent time in the DMZ extraction mode.
Zodiac, the Resurgence map, reportedly drops players in and around a drone manufacturing plant, built around heavy industrial buildings and tight underground tunnels. It also features a train, which PCGamesN calls one of the best Warzone map features.
Season 1 also introduces movable cover in the form of large garbage containers on wheels, and a zipline launcher.
Level reset and a mid-season homecoming
The update also resets players’ levels as part of the seasonal alignment with Modern Warfare 4, which launched October 22 with 33 Operators and a rebuilt Create-a-Class system. How much progression carries over once the new season begins has not been specified, and no launch-hour timing for the November 6 rollout has been given.
Verdansk and Rebirth Island, the two original Warzone maps, are reportedly set to return in a mid-season update, with new points of interest coming to Verdansk.
Warzone remains free to play, while Modern Warfare 4 carries a 69.99 EUR price on Steam and an 85 Metascore.
