Motorola could be bringing back its Moto One smartphone series after nearly five years.

While all eyes are currently on the Motorola Signature 27, which is shaping up to be one of the company’s most ambitious flagship smartphones in years, Motorola is also working on other devices behind the scenes. And now, according to a new leak, the company could be preparing to revive its Moto One lineup.

In case you don’t remember, Moto One was a series of smartphones Motorola introduced back in 2018 that ran Google’s Android One software. Android One was Google’s attempt to bring a cleaner, near-stock Android experience to budget and mid-range smartphones, alongside more consistent software updates. However, the lineup eventually disappeared after a few generations.

Now, it looks like Motorola could be bringing the Moto One name back. As spotted by Notebookcheck, a new Moto One smartphone has appeared in the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) database. The listing also includes an image of the device, which looks eerily similar to the Motorola Edge from 2025.

As seen in the image, the phone appears to feature a curved display along the left and right edges, alongside Motorola’s familiar camera housing in the top-left corner of the back.

Interestingly, the WPC listing also reveals that the new Moto One will support Qi2 wireless charging, although there’s a catch. The phone reportedly supports the Extended Power Profile (EPP) rather than the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP).

This means that, similar to several Samsung Galaxy smartphones, the Moto One won’t have built-in magnets for attaching Qi2 accessories. Instead, it’ll support Qi2 wireless charging without native magnetic attachment.

Previous leaks have revealed that the Moto One could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a previous-generation high-end processor, alongside up to 12GB of RAM.

For now, Motorola hasn’t confirmed whether the Moto One name is actually making a comeback or when the device might launch. But considering the phone has already appeared in the WPC certification database, there’s a chance we could hear more about it fairly soon.
