Black Friday store hours: What time major retailers open their doors in 2026

November 6, 2026

We’re closing in on the biggest shopping day of the year. While most people will do the bulk of their shopping online for Black Friday 2026, some still prefer the in-store experience. There’s something nostalgic about heading to a big box store at the crack of dawn to do some discount shopping.

If you’re gearing up for that classic Black Friday in-store shopping experience, knowing when retailers open (and close) is key to planning your attack. We’ve noted the opening times on Black Friday for major retailers below, but there may be exceptions to these hours. It’s always best to check the exact opening hours at your local store. The majority of stores are closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Kohl’s

Black Friday 2026: Opens at 5 a.m. local time, closing time varies by location

On Black Friday, the first 200 shoppers at every Kohl’s store can receive $5 to $100 in instant Kohl’s Cash. On Saturday, Nov. 28, the first 200 shoppers will receive an instant Sephora at Kohl’s promotional gift valued from $5 to $100 to use that day.
