this should be clarified… the plate has to be able to come off in order to get to the screws that allow you to open the controller. But i don’t think it is sony’s intention to just let you remove the plate on a whim. Ive seen the tear down vids and these plates dont just snap on and off like removing a faceplate on the 360 or the hard drive cover on the ps4. It takes a bit of careful consideration so you dont break the plastic tabs that hold it in place.
