OnePlus Buds are apparently failing for some users

  • Some users are reporting that their OnePlus Buds are faulty.
  • Affected users found that the left bud refuses to play audio.

The OnePlus Buds are among the cheapest true wireless earphones from a major brand, coming in at just ~$60. Fortunately, you’re still getting features like fast charging and IPX4 water resistance for the price.

Unfortunately, it seems like some consumers are reporting that their OnePlus Buds are failing. Android Police spotted several threads on the OnePlus Forums, and the common thread (heh) seems to be that the left bud no longer works. Some users report that the faulty left bud still responds to side tap gestures, but that there’s simply no audio coming out of it.

Affected users have apparently tried everything from resetting the buds to forgetting the pairing, but to no avail. A couple of users also noted that OnePlus issued replacement buds to them, but that these also eventually experienced the same issue.

We’ve asked OnePlus to confirm the fault and to clarify what sort of recourse affected customers can expect. We’ll update the article if/when they get back to us.

Are your OnePlus Buds suffering from this issue? Then give us all the details in the comments section below.
