The Lexus UX subcompact crossover SUV adds a slick new Sport Edition model … in Europe. Available on both the gas-powered UX 200 and gasoline-electric hybrid UX 250h, the Sport Edition kit adds a number of darker bits to the SUV’s exterior, including black grille decor, mirrors, and roof rails, as well as darkened headlight housings. Both dark gray 17-inch and black 18-inch wheels are available, too. But don’t expect any actual performance upgrades.
The theme continues inside the UX Sport Edition, with black “Tahara” faux-leather upholstery lining the interior. Both gray and blue accents are available to give the cabin of the little Lexus a little less of a monotonous look.
Live in Europe? Like the style of the UX Sport Edition? Then look for the trim to hit Lexus lots before the end of 2020. No word on if Lexus plans to eventually add the Sport Edition kit to UX models it ships to the United States.
Nevertheless, Americans in search of a UX with a little more style can always nab one of the 1,000 UX 250h Black Lines the Japanese luxury brand is shipping to our shores. The Black Line, which goes on sale in spring 2021, features the likes of blacked-out exterior bits, body-color fender flares, and a pair of Zero Halliburton luggage pieces. Pricing for the UX 250h Black Line remains under wraps, but plan on spending a bit more than the $36,550 it takes to score an entry-level UX 250h.
