it’s a fantastic game that deserves a larger audience. I’m not against re-releasing it for those who missed it the first time around. You have to remember that the Switch is at 70+ million and the Wii U finished at like 14 million. That’s a lot of people who didn’t get to enjoy it.
That being said, re-releasing is no substitute for new games, so thankfully it seems the majority of the Wii U library has been ported. Which means hopefully new stuff moving forward.
As for the drift, Nintendo has said they will replace any non-functioning joycons. Personally I have two launch sets that have yet to experience any sort of drift. YMMV there I guess.
There will be a Switch successor, but just because Sony and MS decided to release Pro models midway through their gen, doesn’t mean that Nintendo needs to follow suit.
