JLab Audio took a break from true wireless earbuds announcements during CES 2021, and instead debuted the JLab JBuds Frames.
The JLab JBuds Frames can attach to almost any glasses or sunglasses, so you can maintain your style while listening to your music. Unlike the famed Bose Frames, just two independent Bluetooth true wireless audio devices make up the JLab JBuds Frames. These detachable devices use two hooks to secure them to your preferred glasses. JLab provides multiple silicone sleeves, so you can find the perfect fit with your eyewear.
Each device houses a 16mm dynamic driver to produce audio — no bone conduction technology found here. JLab’s audio eyewear accessory keeps your ears uncovered, which lets you remain aware of your surroundings at all times. You can exercise with the JBuds Frames or go for a walk in the rain without worry as they received an IPX4 water-resistance rating.
Despite the affordable price, JLab packed in some impressive technology, and the devices operate independently from one another to conserve battery life. You can stream over the SBC or AAC Bluetooth codec, so iPhone users may enjoy consistent high-quality audio. The JLab JBuds Frames have a nine-meter wireless range, as well as onboard buttons so you may control media and calls. JLab even included its various EQ presets, which include JLab Signature and Bass Boost modes.
You can enjoy up to eight hours of continuous use before the audio peripherals need to be recharged via the included charging cradle. It takes two hours to complete a full charge cycle, and the devices don’t support quick charging. Each frame attachment weights 11.7 grams, likely making them detectable, but not uncomfortable.
The JLab JBuds Frames will be available this spring and retail for $50.
