Short as it may be, this teaser video does indeed tell us a lot. Seeing brief flashes of the 2022 Nissan Frontier’s taillights and headlights triggers memories of the previous-generation Ford F-150, and if the Frontier looks like a Ford, that means it’ll likely look like a baby Nissan Titan. (Which is pretty much what we anticipated.)
If the new Fronty does look like the Titan, that’d be quite a novel thing. The current crop of mid-size pickups, including the Toyota Tacoma, Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon and Ford Ranger, bear very little resemblance to their full-size showroom companions. The Titan is a purposeful and good-looking truck, if a little derivative, and casting the Frontier in its image wouldn’t be a bad thing at all.
The short teaser video has accomplished its mission: We are more eager than ever to see the all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier. We won’t have long to wait, as Nissan plans to reveal the truck this coming Thursday, February 4th, and of course MotorTrend will have all the details.
