  • Xiaomi has announced the rollout of MIUI 12.5.
  • The UI will make its debut in Q2 2021 on a selection of flagships.
  • More phones will be added later in the quarter.

Xiaomi revealed MIUI 12.5 at the Chinese Mi 11 launch back in December 2020, and the company has now revealed more details for global users at the global Mi 11 launch event.

The next version of the company’s MIUI skin will be rolled out to the firm’s devices in a staged manner, the company confirmed.

MIUI 12.5 brings with it a slew of visual and functional tweaks, including more responsive gestures, clipboard controls, and better permissions management. Xiaomi also claims that the UI will be lighter on system resources and less power hungry.

The UI will be rolled out in two waves, with the first kicking off in Q2 2021. The devices set to receive MIUI 12.5 in the first wave will include:

  • Mi 10T
  • Mi 10T Pro
  • Mi 10
  • Mi 10 Pro
  • Mi 11

The second wave will begin in “late Q2 2021” and include an additional 11 devices from Xiaomi and Redmi stables. These include:

  • Mi 10 Lite 5G
  • Mi 10T Lite
  • Mi Note 10 Pro
  • Mi Note 10
  • Mi Note 10 Lite
  • Redmi Note 9T
  • Redmi Note 9 Pro
  • Redmi Note 9S
  • Redmi Note 9
  • Redmi Note 8 Pro
  • Redmi 9

We expect Xiaomi to add more devices to this list once the rollout begins, especially those that have received the MIUI 12 update. So hang tight if you have an older device. There may still be some hope.
