Yet, fan service can only carry a game so far. It still needs to be interesting, engaging, and challenging. Regrettably, Gal*Gun Returns struggles to fulfill that mandate, due to tired light gun shooting mechanics, tedious and uncomfortable Doki Doki sessions, and repetitive scenarios.”
