OnePlus is widely expected to launch its OnePlus 9 series of phones this month, and it now looks like the company has an announcement up its sleeve for next week.
Android Police spotted a teaser image for a March 8 announcement on the OnePlus website (seen at the top of the page). More specifically, the teaser notes that “something new is on the horizon,” while the page in question is dubbed ‘Moonshot.’
Should we expect the OnePlus 9 series or OnePlus Watch launch event, then? Well, serial tipster Max Jambor claims that an “official launch date announcement” will take place on March 8. Check out the tweet below.
In other words, it sounds like OnePlus might only announce a date for the OnePlus 9 series event rather than holding an actual launch event on the day. However, there is one other thing OnePlus could announce on the day.
Frequent leaker Mukul Sharma noted that the teaser image shared by the OEM looks very similar to a teaser image seen on a Hasselblad website. So it’s possible we could also get confirmation of a partnership between the two firms on Monday.
Nevertheless, the company is tipped to offer the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, a mid-range OnePlus 9R device, and a WearOS-toting OnePlus Watch. So there are plenty of gadgets to look forward to when the launch event takes place.
