redmi x series tv

  • Redmi has launched the Redmi X series of TVs in India.
  • The TVs are available in 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch sizes.
  • They all offer 4K HDR screens, HDMI 2.1 ports, and more.

Xiaomi is no stranger to the TV business in India, offering a variety of products in the market. We haven’t seen many Redmi TVs in the region though, but the Xiaomi sub-brand is upping the ante with the newly announced Redmi X series of smart TVs.

The Redmi X series consists of three models, namely the X50, X55, and X65. And as the model names imply, you’re looking at 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch models.

Fortunately, screen size is the only major differentiating factor between these TVs. Otherwise, the models all share a 4K HDR resolution with HDR10+/HDR10/Dolby Vision/HLG support, quad-core Cortex-A55 processor (with Mali-G52 MP2 GPU), 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.

When it comes to audio, the TVs also offer eARC support, two 15W speakers, DTS-HD, and DTS Virtual:X capabilities via a firmware update.

Other notable Redmi X series features include three HDMI 2.1 ports, Xiaomi’s PatchWall UI atop Android TV 10, and AV1 decoding. Redmi is also promising a variety of supported apps, such as Netflix, Disney Plus Hotstar, Prime Video, and more.

Redmi X series pricing and availability

Xiaomi confirmed that the Redmi X series TVs will go on sale from midday IST on March 26 via Amazon, Mi Home/Studio stores, and Xiaomi’s own website. Expect to pay Rs 32,999 (~$455) for the 50-inch model, Rs 38,999 (~$537) for the 55-inch variant, and Rs 57,999 (~$799) for the 65-inch TV.
