Google’s meditation video on how to switch to Pixel is hilarious

  • A new official video from Google is here. It goes over how to switch to Pixel from your current phone.
  • The video is designed as a mock meditation instructional and is absolutely hilarious.
  • It’s nice when companies put in a little extra effort with these things.

Close your eyes. Live in the moment. Breathe in. Breathe out. Accept your inner peace. Namaste. These are the kinds of statements one hears in the countless meditation instructional videos on YouTube. However, what you usually don’t hear is “plug in your Pixel” or “don’t worry if you have thousands of latte pics.” That’s exactly what you hear in Google’s new official video on how to switch to Pixel from your current phone.

The video pokes fun at the deluge of meditation videos you can find online by showing generic nature clips while a voiceover explains how to transfer your files. The narrator sounds like she’s lost between one realm and the next, yet still has time to make brilliant quips like, “you can’t mess this up, as long as you trust the process.”

After watching for the first time, I had to triple-check that yes, this is an official video from Google itself. In other words, if someone is searching for how to switch to Pixel, they will find this and watch it. I’m not sure if Google is trolling or just being unconventional, but I love it.

Now, it’s possible Google only put this up temporarily and will eventually take it down. That would be unfortunate, but it would make more sense to have a “normal” instructional video for this purpose. If that is the case, you’re going to want to watch this as soon as possible. It would be a shame for anyone to not experience it.

“Hello, jackhammer. Must be the road works.”
