  • Xiaomi has confirmed that the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra will be revealed on March 29 in China.
  • The launch date and time coincides with a global launch event, suggesting these phones will be global releases.

Xiaomi first launched the Mi 11 in December, with a global launch following soon after. We previously heard about a Mi 11 Pro and we already knew that the Mi 11 Ultra was on the way thanks to a leaked hands-on video. Now, it looks like we’ve finally got a launch date for the souped-up phones.

Xiaomi announced on Weibo that it will be launching the two phones on March 29 at 7:30PM Beijing time. Check out the machine-translated post below.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro and Ultra

This is the same day and time for Xiaomi’s global launch that it announced yesterday (March 22), suggesting that the Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra are indeed coming to global markets as well. So what should you expect from these phones?

The Mi 11 Ultra leaked in a YouTuber’s hands-on video earlier this year, and it’s reportedly packing an IP68 design for the first time in Xiaomi’s flagship range. It’s also offering a rear screen (ostensibly for selfies), and a trio of high resolution rear cameras (50MP main, 48MP ultra-wide, 48MP periscope with 120x digital zoom). Other notable specs include a 5,000mAh battery with 67W wired and 67W wireless charging, a Snapdragon 888 SoC, and a QHD+ 120Hz OLED panel.

Xiaomi previously asked users whether they would buy a ~$1,500 phone from the company, suggesting that the Mi 11 Ultra won’t be cheap — unless Xiaomi was talking about a foldable.

We’re guessing that the Mi 11 Pro is positioned in between the standard Mi 11 and Ultra model. So it will presumably have less impressive charging capabilities and cameras, although the Xiaomiui Telegram group previously claimed it will pack a 50MP main camera, 48MP telephoto camera, and a QHD+ 120Hz OLED screen too.

Would you spend $1,500 on the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra? Let us know by taking the poll further up the page.
