The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 is finally here, and it builds on the successful formula of the previous version. While it might look similar to the Mi Band 5, the new edition packs a handful of improvements.

The Mi Band 6 wears a larger 1.56-inch screen, for starters. That’s 50% larger than the Mi Band 5‘s 1.1-inch display. Tempered glass and anti-fingerprint coating also feature to better protect the band from everyday wear and tear. There’s also an SpO2 sensor and 30 sport tracking profiles this time around.

But one key question remains for those upgrading from the Mi Band 5. Does the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 work with Mi Band 5 bands?

Does the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 work with Mi Band 5 bands?

The answer is a resounding yes. While the Mi Band 5 isn’t compatible with Xiaomi Mi Band 4 bands, Xiaomi has addressed this with the latest iteration. Although the Mi Band 6 packs a larger display, the tracker’s actual body size is similar to the Mi Band 5. This means you can use your older bands with your new wearable. If you still want to use your Mi Band 5, you can also grab new Mi Band 6 bands for your tracker too.

The Mi Band 6 arrives in a host of colorways, including Black, Orange, Yellow, Olive, Ivory, and Blue. The Mi Band 5 adds Pink, Purple, Green, and Gray to the official list. However, you can find a slew of additional bands over on Amazon.
