  • Live shots of the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro have leaked.
  • The images showcase the phone’s unique rear design.
  • Lenovo will debut the phone on April 8 in China.

Gaming phones have always thrown caution to the wind in terms of their physical design, with some brands going for RGB lighting, shocking colorways, or transparent backplates. Now, leaked shots of the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro suggests the Chinese firm will continue this trend.

Live shots were published to Weibo, showcasing the Lenovo Legion 2 Pro’s possible final design. Users will have to settle for a minimal bezel at the bottom of the display but won’t have to worry about a notch or camera cutout. Selfie shooting is taken care of by a side-mounted 44MP pop-up camera. However, it’s the rear design that really pops. Have a look at the shots below.

The middle of the Legion 2 Pro’s rear plate features a waistband-like bump. It houses the Legion logo, the OmniVision 64MP primary camera, and the tertiary shooter. A small fan is also visible with venting slots off to the side. Lenovo had teased twin fans to better cool the Snapdragon 888 and 16GB of RAM. Venting slots are also apparent on the side of the phone.

The addition of a liquid cooling system should eke some more performance out of the Snapdragon chipset, but the Legion 2 Pro’s design might not be to everyone’s taste. Lenovo’s first gaming phone, the Legion Phone Duel, arguably packed a more palatable aesthetic.

Beyond its looks, we also know the Legion 2 Pro will sport a 6.92-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 720Hz touch sampling rate. A 5,500mAh battery will power the phone.

The Lenovo Legion 2 Pro will debut on April 8 in China, so expect pricing and availability details to follow later this week. What do you think of the design? Let us know by taking the poll below.
