Last week, a report out of South Korea claimed the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 will not have a dedicated S Pen slot due to space constraints and “water resistance issues.” A new report from SamMobile now claims both the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 2 will come with an IP rating.
While Samsung’s best Android phones are water and dust resistant, we haven’t seen a foldable with an IP rating yet. The report doesn’t specify the exact rating, but does suggest that the phones aren’t likely to have the same IP68 rating as the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 2 are rumored to be unveiled at an Unpacked event in July. As per a recent leak, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 successor will have a 7.5-inch internal screen and a 6.2-inch cover display. The foldable is also expected to pack a 4,380mAh battery and an under-display selfie camera.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 2, on the other hand, is tipped to come with a 6.7-inch main display and a 1.83-inch cover display. Unfortunately, the phone isn’t likely to be very different from its predecessor in the battery life department. It will apparently feature a 3,200mAh battery, instead of the 3,300mAh cell inside the Galaxy Z Flip. The rest of the foldable’s specs remain a complete mystery at this point, but you can expect more details to surface online in the coming weeks.

The Galaxy S20 FE is the best phone, so it deserves the best case
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S20 FE and the device is sure to turn plenty of heads. With stiff competition in the mid-range market, it’s clear that Samsung wants to compete and the S20 FE is fantastic. If you’re picking one of these awesome new devices up, make sure you pair it with a case to keep it looking awesome.
