Do you guys expect them to come out and say “guys… we are looking for the nearest exit because it’s so much fire we can’t even see the smoke. Please buy a console because we can still right this ship. Maybe”. Isn’t going to happen. They are assessing the damage and if you think about it, they are only selling a controller and a subscription. It might not be as bad as we think. It’s not like it’s $500 consoles sitting on shelves. It’s controllers. Now those services cost them money on their end, but saving on consoles manufacturing and what not definitely saved them a ton. If the internet was to the level they need it at, I could see Microsoft using this model and doing great with it. Sony too. They already have the user base, loyalty, and trust built up over the years. I think google had the right idea at the wrong time and they needed to partner with Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, or Steam when the internet and the right time came.
