Got Downtime? Snag These 9 Racing Video Games For $14

Staring at your PC wishing there was something other than car memes and reruns of Top Gear to distract you from the dominating news lately? That bummer may be wreaking havoc on the physical world’s automotive sector, but the digital world is, ostensibly, germ-free. Luckily, a charitable company called Humble Bundle might have exactly what you need to help you escape into your monitor with a sweet bundle of racing games for almost no money at all.

For the next two weeks, Humble Bundle is offering nine different racing games in exchange for a $14 donation. Founded in 2010, Humble Bundle’s mission is simple: to offer video games and other digital content while benefiting charities at the same time. The company packages digital bundles for a few weeks at a time and sells them at a price you determine. A portion of the money goes to either the company’s featured charity or a charity of your choice. That seems like a pretty darn good way to use a little disposable income while killing your (surely now ample) time.

This latest bundle includes titles such as Project Cars, Dirt 4, and even Assetto Corsa. The bundle is structured in tiers. Spend $1 and you’ll get access to three games. Go all the way and donate up to $14 and you’ll get all nine games and five extra pieces of content like Dream Car Packs for Assetto Corsa. The money will go to support the Child’s Play charity that donates video game consoles to hospitals for kids in need of a little distraction from their illnesses.

With the postponement of so many motorsport-related events and the out and out cancellation of events like the Monaco Grand Prix, this seems like this is the perfect time to binge on this sweet collection of racing games. And, not to mention, to practice some social distancing while competing online with your friends. If there’s a downside, it exists only for Mac users—only one of the games on offer works on that platform. Everything else is exclusive to PC users.
