Samsung ‘Summer of Galaxy’ freebies include YouTube Premium and an NFT

TL;DR

  • Samsung has kicked off its “Summer of Galaxy” with a host of giveaways.
  • You can get free YouTube Premium, Uber Eats vouchers, and even a music NFT.
  • You can also get a Galaxy Watch 3 for half price if a friend buys a Galaxy S21.

It wouldn’t be summer without Samsung’s seasonal freebies, and this year the bonuses are helpful — if also a little trendy. As Android Police reports, the company has launched its 2021 Summer of Galaxy campaign that offers no-charge bonuses through the Samsung Members app, including a few for services you might just use.

The most practical Summer of Galaxy perks known to date include a three-month YouTube Premium trial, a three-month Billboard Pro membership, and $5 vouchers for both Uber Eats as well as Twitch. However, you’ll also have access to a “Gaming Master Class” and even a trendy non-fungible token (NFT) tied to the Songs of Summer virtual concert. You’ll get extras tied to the concert, too.

This being Samsung, it won’t surprise you to hear that there’s an incentive to buy hardware. Persuade a friend to buy a Galaxy S21 using your Summer of Galaxy referral code and both of you will get half off the price of a Galaxy Watch 3. It’s clearly a plan to spur S21 sales, but might be helpful if you were already thinking of buying a smartwatch.

Samsung cautioned that the Summer of Galaxy free goods will only be available between now and July 20 at 3AM Eastern “while supplies last.” You’ll want to claim these virtual gifts soon, then, even if you don’t plan to use them all.
