South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have signed a new deal with MTV that will see them creating 14 new South Park movies for Paramount+ and more seasons of the main show. The deal is said to be valued at $900 million, according to Bloomberg.

The deal is good through 2027. Specifically, it includes 14 new South Park original movies made specifically for Paramount+, two of which will be released in 2021. It also covers the next seasons of South Park, bringing it up through Season 30. The show is currently on Season 23.

“Matt and Trey are world-class creatives who brilliantly use their outrageous humor to skewer the absurdities of our culture and we are excited to expand and deepen our long relationship with them to help fuel Paramount+ and Comedy Central,” executive Chris McCarthy said in a statement. “Franchising marquee content like South Park and developing new IP with tremendous talent like Matt and Trey, is at the heart of our strategy to continue growing Paramount+.”

Parker and Stone said their own statement that they’re delighted to stay in business with Comedy Central, joking that, “We’re really happy that they’ve made a commitment to us for the next 75 years.”

More seriously, Parker and Stone thanked the studio executives for their support during the pandemic as they found a new way to produce the show. These executives were “immediately supportive and enabled us to try something new that turned out to be really well received,” Parker and Stone said. “We can’t wait to get back to doing traditional South Park episodes but now we can also try out new formats. It’s great to have partners who will always take a chance with us.”

South Park’s The Pandemic Special and South ParQ Vaccination Special were immensely popular for Comedy Central in terms of ratings, while The Pandemic Special earned an Emmy nomination.

South Park originally launched in August 1997, so it’s coming up on its 25th anniversary in 2022. Outside of the TV show, Parker and Stone worked with Ubisoft on its South Park video games, most recently 2017’s South Park: Fractured But Whole. Parker and Stone also created the Broadway musical The Book of Mormon.
