New leak spills Bose QuietComfort 45 renders and specs

TL;DR

  • A new leak has shed additional light on the upcoming Bose QuietComfort 45 headphones.
  • The headphones were first spotted passing through the FCC in July.
  • They’ll reportedly pack improved battery life, a lighter build, and more for $329.

We first caught wind of the Bose QuietComfort 45 when the headphones passed through the FCC last month. The listing revealed plenty, including the design and button layout of the cans. Now, a new leak has shed a little more light on Bose’s upcoming flagship headphones, including core specs and apparent marketing renders.

According to WinFuture, Bose is intent on slimming down the headphones in terms of bulk and weight. The headphones’ body consists of glass-filled nylon, while the cup material employs synthetic leather. A 3.5mm headphone jack returns, as corroborated by the FCC images, while Bluetooth is bumped up to version 5.1.

Visually, the QuietComfort 45 is reminiscent of previous Bose headphone models. The button layout remains consistent, too, which should lend familiarity to those upgrading from previous models.

The QuietComfort 45 will reportedly feature multi-device support and the ambient Aware Mode, which uses built-in microphones to pass through audio from the environment. Active noise-cancellation will once again be the headlining feature, but it’s unclear if or how Bose is improving this system.

Finally, in terms of battery life, the QuietComfort 45 will reportedly pack a smaller 450mAh cell compared to the 495mh of its QC35 series siblings. Nevertheless, Bose apparently claims up to 24 hours of playback per charge. It’s unclear if this figure is measured with ANC switched on or off, though.

The claimed improvements come at a slight premium. WinFuture claims the Bose QuietComfort 45 will sell in the US for $329. There’s no word on a European price, although the headphones will reportedly go on sale in the region “soon.”
