The iPad mini is $100 off

Save $100: Usually $399.99, the 64GB Apple iPad mini with WiFi is on sale for $299.99 at Walmart and Best Buy as of Aug. 30 — a 25% savings.

Maybe it’s the portability, maybe it’s the Apple Pencil compatibility, or maybe it’s the sense of possibility, but something about using an iPad can make you feel like you have your life together.

Lucky for everyone who’s been looking to fill the iPad-shaped hole in their heart, the 64GB Apple iPad mini with WiFi is on sale for 25% at Best Buy for only $299.99 — a full $100 off the list price — as of Aug. 30. You’ll also be able to find this deal at Walmart, but at the time of writing, only the space gray color is in stock, while Best Buy has all the colors (that’s gold, space gray, and silver) available.

As you probably know or gleaned from the name, the iPad mini is smaller, with a 7.9-in screen size that clocks in at a few inches short of the iPad, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. However, it’s still a reasonably sized screen that allows you to type or write notes, enjoy your apps, and most importantly, watch your favorite shows in bed with ease. The size and battery life of this tablet makes it super easy to take on the go, but it should be noted that the model on sale is WiFi, but not cellular, compatible. Additionally, though it does work with the Apple Pencil, if you’re primarily using a tablet for photo or video editing, you’ll probably want to invest in one of the larger models with a faster processor.

For everyday use, the mini is still a solid choice. It’s powered by the same A12 Bionic chip as the standard model iPad, so you can rest assured that the smaller size doesn’t mean you’ll be sacrificing speed and functionality. If you’re looking for a reliable all-around iPad model that’s affordable and minimizes (no pun intended) the space your tech takes up, the iPad mini is probably your best bet. After all, there’s a reason iPads are popular among the sea of tablets offered.

Though this is the latest iPad mini generation, it did come out in 2019, so if you’ve been holding out on buying the mini, you might be interested in holding on a bit longer — the new one is slated to launch this fall. If you’re definitely done waiting, now’s your chance to grab an iPad on sale for only $299.99.
