Aquaman’s New-Look Costume Revealed By Jason Momoa

Aquaman star Jason Momoa has revealed the new-look costume he will wear for the upcoming movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. The sequel to 2018’s DC blockbuster hits theaters on December 16, 2022.

Momoa posted an image of the new suit alongside the familiar gold-and-green costume he wore in the first Aquaman. The new costume is a sleek black number–the fins and spikes are gone, and overall it looks like something that is a lot more practical for swimming and fighting in the depths of the ocean. Momoa accompanied the image with a caption that reads, “New suit. More action.” Check it out below:

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is directed by James Wan, who helmed the first Aquaman, as well as hits such as Fast 7, The Conjuring, and the original Saw. Many of the main cast from the first film are returning too, including Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, and Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry.

Abdul-Mateen II recently hinted at what fans can expect from the new movie. He stated “the script is better than it was in the first one,” and said it “gives the actors a lot of good storytelling moments.”

There’s also an animated Aquaman show, titled Aquaman: King of Atlantis, heading to HBO Max. The series doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but the first artwork was revealed back in February. One Aquaman-related project we won’t be getting however is the spin-off movie The Trench, which isn’t moving past the development stage.
