The Best G-Sync Monitors for 2020

April 1, 2020

G-Sync is a display technology that synchronizes the refresh rates of your monitor with your NVIDIA GeForce graphics card. If you have one of these GPUs, we highly recommend investing in a monitor that supports G-Sync to prevent issues with lags or screen tearing and enhance your gaming experience.

Read on to find out more about the different gaming monitors that support G-Sync. We’ve selected monitors with different sizes and resolutions, as well as a budget option.

Not concerned about G-Sync? Here are some other great gaming monitors.

Acer Predator XB3

The best 4K G-Sync monitor

Acer’s Predator models are already great for gaming: Adding G-Sync and HDR support to this 4K model only makes it better. The 27-inch monitor has an excellent quantum dot screen with good color accuracy and amazing brightness levels thanks to the effective HDR. The refresh rate is also noteworthy, starting at 120Hz and if you use DisplayPort, overclockable to 144Hz. The response time a healthy 4ms — more than fast enough for most gamers. You also get the many Predator customization options for various gaming modes (action, sports, racing, etc.) and the ability to adjust color and other settings as you please.

We did have some issues with the design: The onboard controls for the monitor are in the back and a little difficult to use, especially once you have the screen positioned the way you like. The ports — including HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-A 3.0 and USB-B — are well hidden but also difficult to access. As a result, setting this monitor up may take a little bit longer. But the excellent display makes it all worthwhile.

Razer Raptor 27

The best 1440p G-Sync monitor

Handily one of the best G-Sync monitors that we have reviewed in some time, the Razer Raptor is made for gaming, but has features everyone will appreciate, with an excellent WQHD resolution and support for HDR400. The 144Hz monitor also comes with a robust 1ms response time and excellent color rating.

We’re also big fans of the design, which is very study has thin bezels, and is includes adept cable management options in the back — plus a 90-degree tilt option. Connections include HDMI, USB-A, DisplayPort, and, notably, USB-C for the latest connections and charging.

But perhaps the unique part of this monitor is its ability to support both AMD’s Freesync and Nvidia’s G-sync in one model, something very few monitors offer. This is nice for gamers who are still planning out the rest of their gaming machines, or contemplating a GPU switch in the future and want to be prepared for both options.

Dell Gaming Monitor 24-inch

The best budget G-Sync monitor

Dell Gaming Monitor 24-inch

Dell’s 24-inch model is a reliable G-Sync monitor that sacrifices a bit of screen space for a low price (you can upgrade to the 27-inch model for around $100 more, although at this point we suggest going with a Predator or ROG model instead). The screen includes top-notch stats, included QHD 2,560 x 1,440 resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms response time — with flicker free tech included.

We also enjoy the clean, utilitarian design: It can save space when necessary and expand or adjust when you need it, including tilt, pivot, swivel and height options. That also makes it an excellent monitor for linking multiple monitors together if you need some extra screen real estate. If you are a gamer, you’ll be pleased to know the monitor comes with several preset modes for specific game types (RPG, FPS, etc.) to make optimizing a bit easier.

Acer Predator Z35

The best ultrawide G-Sync monitor

Are you the sort of gamer looking for an ultrawide model instead? As you probably know, ultrawide models are excellent for immersion and have great compatibility with racing games, shooters that support wider aspect ratios, and other games where field of vision is important and there’s a lot of scenery to show off. The curved nature of this 35-inch Predator model is also effective at this, giving you more immersion and maybe even saving a little desk space at the same time.

The monitor offers full HD resolution, a 144z refresh rate via DisplayPort (60Hz via HDMI). Overclocking options are available to around 200Hz if you like to tinker. There are also five USB 3.0 port for your accessories. There’s even some ambient lighting at the edges of the monitor if you want extra light or just think it looks cool. This model is available in a number of sizes, but the 35-inch is the largest available, and the most bang for your buck.
