Halo Infinite Doesn’t Have an Official Collector’s Edition

One of the biggest games of the year, Halo Infinite, is not receiving an official Collector’s Edition from 343 Industries.

Last week, a Halo Infinite Collector’s Edition listing popped up at Walmart. It was limited to 10,000 copies and sold out soon after. It has not yet appeared on any other retailer such as Amazon or Best Buy.

Brian Jarrard, 343’s community director, chimed in on Twitter to clarify the situation, writing, “Since a few folks have been asking about this–I can confirm that while various retailers around the world are expected to offer their own custom bundles, there is not an ‘official’ Collectors/Ultimate edition for Halo Infinite. Check your favorite retailer for options!”

Since a few folks have been asking about this – I can confirm that while various retailers around the world are expected to offer their own custom bundles, there is not an ‘official’ Collectors/Ultimate edition for #HaloInfinite. Check your favorite retailer for options! https://t.co/daNDTR5Pmz

So it looks like different retailers are throwing together a bunch of related Halo Infinite merchandise and goodies to make their own “Collector’s Edition” packages. As of right now, Walmart is the only retailer that is offering such a bundle. It comes with items like a replica Energy Sword lamp, steel book, and mini-artbook, all put together in a neat “Halo Infinite” branded outer box. It certainly looks “official,” if nothing else!

While this seems like a missed opportunity for such a big release, Microsoft has already celebrated Halo Infinite with its limited-edition Xbox Series X-themed console and Elite controller.

Halo Infinite launches on December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The multiplayer portion will be free-to-play and the game is available on Day One for Xbox Game Pass members. So far, the Halo series has sold 81 million copies over its 20-year lifetime.

GameSpot may get a commission from retail offers.
