Returnal is the first game to truly put the new $70 MSRP base price to the test

Hopefully. €80 for every game is way too much. If people refuse to buy a game for a new IP like Returnal but buy Rachet & Clank, then this price increase will also encourage companies to take less risks as well. Overall, this just isn’t good for the industry.

I think Microsoft are just waiting to see which way the wind blows, and they’ll start doing this eventually if other companies get away with it.

Anyone who defends this price hike is a complete muppet unless they’re personally profiting from it.
