How many phones do you have around? Samsung wants them all for a Z Fold 3.

TL;DR

  • You can exchange up to four devices for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 or Galaxy Z Flip 3.
  • This offer will likely only be available during the pre-order phase.

How much tech are you willing to give up for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 or Galaxy Z Flip 3? That’s what Samsung wants to know with its updated trade-in offer for its latest foldables. First spotted by Android Police, you can now exchange up to four devices — smartphones, tablets, or smartwatches — and get the Z Fold 3 or Z Flip 3 for as low as $70. As long as you have the right devices, which is honestly quite unlikely.

You get the best returns with the latest flagships from Samsung and Apple. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will get you $800, $750 for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and $650 for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, you have to watch out for diminishing returns. For example, a “second choice” iPhone 12 Pro Max is valued at $450. The trade-in values are also lower in the case of the Galaxy Z Flip 3.

Remember that trade-in values aren’t necessarily the best deals, even with Samsung’s enhanced limits. You could easily get a couple of hundred dollars more on recent flagships by selling them online. Trade-ins are quick and convenient though, especially if you want to get rid of really old or damaged devices.

There are plenty of permutations and combinations, but even if you don’t come close to the maximum possible, the point here is that Samsung is willing to take all your old tech off your hands if you’re looking to save a decent chunk of money on its latest releases. Hold on to a charger though, because neither of these phones comes with one.
