Well, that’s what Netflix’s upcoming spooky thriller Nightbooks might have you thinking, with the trailer channelling Goosebumps energy with a little more terrifying edge to it.
Jessica Jones‘ Krysten Ritter plays a frankly terrifying witch who traps Alex (Winslow Fegley), a kid obsessed with scary stories, and demands he write a new one every night or he’s toast. Alex finds Yasmin (Lidya Jewett) also trapped in this strange, magical apartment, and they’ve got to get out of there before The End.
Nightbooks lands on Netflix soon, date TBC.
