As of Sept. 1, a handful of Google Nest smart home devices are on sale at Walmart for up to 39% off:

No one is more ready for fall than Walmart, apparently.

The big box store is kicking off September with some surprisingly steep discounts on Google Nest smart home devices, the likes of which we don’t normally see until Black Friday rolls around. It’s basically the retail equivalent of getting a Pumpkin Spice Latte or breaking out the flannel when the temperatures are still in the 70s. (But hey, we’ll take it.)

Anyone who’s in the market for a new smart speaker ahead of Montero or Red (Taylor’s Version) can expect savings of up to 39%, while those of us who have grown to like the whole video call thing can get up to $30 off a new smart hub or display. Here’s the scoop:

Released just this March, the all-new Nest Hub improves upon Google’s original model from 2018 with a 43.5mm driver for 50% more bass, a nifty (albeit somewhat judge-y) “Sleep Sense” sleep-tracking feature, and a zippy machine learning chip that speeds up its Google Assistant’s response time. Meanwhile, a bright 7-inch touchscreen LCD display and a fabric-covered speaker keep the design familiar.

You can pick one up from Walmart in “chalk” for just $69.98 — that’s 30% off its $99.99 MSRP, which is one of the highest discounts it’s ever seen.

UPDATE 8/1 2 P.M. EST: The Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) has completely sold out on Walmart, but we’ll keep you posted about any future restocks.

Walmart has actually managed to revive last year’s Black Friday pricing on the second-gen Google Nest Mini, a pocket-sized smart speaker from 2019 with rich, detailed sound and an impressive amount of bass for its size.

It normally retails for $49, but you can score it on sale in “charcoal” for just $29.99 — a 39% savings.

With decent sound, a sleek design, easy-to-use controls, and seamless connectivity with tons of other smart home devices, last year’s Google Nest Audio is our clear favorite of the “big three” smart speakers.

Its $99.99 MSRP already feels like a bargain, but Walmart will give it to you for only $79.98, or 20% off. (For those of you keeping track at home, this means it’s only a few bucks away from Walmart’s all-time-low price in June.) Choose from four finishes: chalk, charcoal, sage (green), or sky (blue).

The 10-inch Google Nest Hub Max from 2019 features hand gesture controls and a 6.5-megapixel camera with a wide-angle lens that automatically adjusts to keep you in the center of the frame, making it ideal for video chats. (It also works great as a digital photo frame, FWIW.)

Walmart’s shaved 13% off its $229 list price, so you’ll pay just $199.98.

A straggler from Google’s Home days (before its lineup adopted the Nest name), the still-very-good Google Home Max from 2018 is a powerful smart speaker with extra-loud audio and booming bass. If you care more about sound than smarts, get this one instead of the Nest Audio.

It usually retails for $399, but Walmart will give it to you for just $299 and throw in four free months of Tidal Premium just for kicks (a $39.96 value).
