Ben Affleck Had ‘Fun’ Playing Batman In The Flash After ‘Difficult’ Justice League

If you follow Batman films at all, you’ve probably heard all the nightmares that come with dawning the cowl in real life–going to the bathroom, turning your head, even little things are tougher in the suit. But there’s a fun side to it, too, as Ben Affleck testified about his experience reprising the role for The Flash in a recent interview, Variety reports.

“[Playing Batman in The Flash] was a really nice way to revisit that, as the prior experience had been difficult,” Affleck said, referring to his experience playing the character in 2017’s Justice League. “This was really lovely. Really fun.”

“I had a great time,” Affleck continued, before adding that “I’m probably under some gag order that I’m not even aware that I probably just violated and now I’m going to be sued.

Affleck also spoke warmly of The Flash star Ezra Miller, and of his chance to hang out with Justice League co-star Jason Momoa, who is currently shooting Aquaman and the Last Kingdom.

The Flash had been in development hell for years, hiring and losing a handful of directors including Lego Movie duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Dope director Rick Famiyiwa, and others before landing on IT director Andy Muschietti. The film will star Ezra Miller, reprising his role as Fastest Man Alive Barry Allen. Affleck is returning as Bruce Wayne/Batman, alongside Michael Keaton, who will also play Batman. Sasha Calle will be suiting up as the first Supergirl to grace the big screen since Supergirl, which hit theaters and bombed in 1984.

The Flash is due to hit theaters on November 4, 2022, and will be the first standalone film for the Scarlet Speedster.
