You may have noticed that HONOR is in the midst of a resurgence. Following Huawei’s sale of the brand in November 2020, HONOR has set out to forge its own path in the ever-competitive world of smartphones — and far beyond.
2021 saw some key launches for HONOR as the brand carves out its own identity and continues on its journey to becoming an iconic technology brand. The aspirational HONOR 50 and flagship HONOR Magic 3 exude both iconic style and cutting-edge hardware specifications. For instance, the HONOR 50 boasts a unique design and all-new colorways, including the eyecatching HONOR Code design. Meanwhile, the HONOR Magic 3 is the first smartphone to achieve IMAX Enhanced certification for cinematic content creation, sharing, and playback.
Likewise, the 2021 Magicbook Pro reaffirms HONOR’s commitment to expanding its ecosystem beyond smartphones. The Magicbook Pro combines powerful processing and high-end FullView Display hardware with unique software features, such as Multi-Screen Collaboration to enable enhanced content sharing between smartphone and PC.
Importantly, the HONOR 50 — the first smartphone equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor — marks the return of pre-installed Google Mobile Services (GMS), granting global customers access to the world of Google and other Android apps that they’ve come to know and love over the years. The brand is on course to compete as an ambitious player in the global smartphone market.

Likewise, the partnership with leading chipset vendor Qualcomm helped power the HONOR Magic 3 to flagship heights with the powerhouse Snapdragon 888 Plus. The HONOR Magic 3 Pro Plus, in particular, is a real showcase for the premium hardware and software experience that HONOR is now able to create for its fans — both old and new.
As well as captivating new products, HONOR scored wins in key markets throughout 2021 as well. The brand’s global reach continues to expand, with product launches taking place in new territories including France, Malaysia, Mexico, Russia, and Saudi Arabia. If 2021 was a year of renewal for the company, 2022 looks set to be one of expansion.
HONOR in 2022 — More than smartphones
Building high-performance products across an expanding product portfolio requires cutting-edge research and development facilities and staff. HONOR continues to increase investment in R&D and innovation capabilities to help achieve these goals, debuting the first self-funded Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park in Shenzhen in November 2021. The park handles quality control, flagship device production, new craftsmanship and technology incubations, and houses the company’s artificial intelligence manufacturing capacities too.
Still, HONOR’s focus remains committed to its “smart life” strategy, enabling smart life across all scenarios, all channels, for all people. The approach centers around the smartphone as the center of the connected world, branching out into connections with tablets, PCs, wearables, smart homes, and more.
The growing prevalence of 5G communication — and the ongoing development into next-gen 6G network technology — presents new opportunities in the fields of interconnectivity that align with HONOR’s smart life strategy. Combined with the company’s advances in AI processing capabilities, HONOR is optimizing its products to capitalize on the increasingly blurred lines between today’s physical and virtual worlds.
Bleeding edge hardware with foldables
There’s no greater sign of ambition and innovation than being right on the bleeding edge of mobile technology. Foldables are the current frontier and the HONOR Magic V is the company’s first foldable 5G flagship smartphone, launching in 2022.

Paired with Magic UI 6.0’s powerful AI software features and optimizations, computational photography, and Multi-Windows support, the handset is as much a showcase for software as well as hardware.
The HONOR Magic V aims to set a high bar for the rest of the industry in 2022 and will build momentum for wide-spanning product launches throughout what is sure to be a busy year for the company.
