Google is partnering with T-Mobile to provide a Google One plan with unlimited Google Photos storage.
Google used to provide unlimited storage for Google Photos users before ending its unlimited option for all but Pixel owners. Since ending unlimited storage, Google offers several different tiers of Google One storage, with one option topping out at 2TB for $9.99 a month, or $99 for a year. T-Mobile is now bringing back unlimited photo storage for its customers, regardless of whether they run a Pixel phone. The new plan will offer 2TB of cloud storage for Gmail and Drive, as well as unlimited storage for photos and videos, for $15 per month.
T-Mobile customers aren’t locked into a one-size-fits-all option. Customers can opt for a 500GB plan for $5 a month, a 2TB plan for $10 a month, or 2TB plus unlimited Google Photos for $15 a month. In many ways, the two lower-tier plans are similar to the basic Google options, except that the lowest tier comes with 500GB instead of the 100 or 200GB Google’s lower tiers provide. All three plans include the option to redeem extended trials for YouTube Premium, Stadia, and other Google services. Like Google’s 2TB plan, T-Mobile’s mid and high-end tiers come with Google’s VPN service, as well as the ability to share the 2TB of storage with up to five other people. The unlimited plan also allows users to store their photos and videos in full resolution, rather than reducing the quality to save space.

Overall, T-Mobile’s options look like a good deal for most customers. Even the low and mid-tier plans offer more storage or features than Google’s vanilla plans, while still coming in at the same price. The unlimited plan is an excellent option for those customers who miss or need the old unlimited Google Photos. The only caveat, of course, is that the unlimited plan is a T-Mobile exclusive.
